Please help..

I would appreciate any feedback before I worry myself into an early grave. We have an intex metal frame above ground pool 18 x 9. We dug up and framed an area 20 x 12. Its approx 8 inches deep. We filled with sand and used a compactor and its completely level. However, intex says to not use sand so I'm hesitant... Husband thinks it will be fine. We have to wood cut to support the legs. Summer will soon be over and it will be hot this weekend.. I'm not sure what to do. Would appreciate any feed back.

Sounds like it should work to me but it's really up to you.

The sand is contained in the frame. Is the frame strong enough to hold in the sand? Is it back-filled on the outside or supported in some other way?
Wood blocks under the legs should be OK at least for a while. Patio block would be better.

Where does the water go if the pool fails? will it destroy your neighbor's property or harmlessly flood the yard?

Thank you for taking time to respond. The frame is partially in the ground, so it's partially supported by the ground. Least about is 4 inches in. We put the frame up and filled but didn't use leg supports - one leg did not have enough room to fully extend. Left us having to drain out the water. Pool needed to be away a little from the sides. This time we cut the wood. I'm a little concerned the wood will sink into the sand while the pool is filling there for creating an unlevel surface..

I missed the part about where would the water go... Onto our yard and street/road should it fail..

So the risk of failure is loss of the pool and water. Not a lawsuit.
