Installing Pentair IntelliChlor (salt cell)
I bought a Pentair MasterTemp heater, Pentair Intelliflo Variable Speed Pump, Pentair IntelliChlor Generator Cell and Power Center. Got my estimates to install everything, was way too high for me so I decided to install everything my self. Everything looks great, no leaks, chemicals balanced, etc. Now to turn on the salt cell. In reading the manual the cell must be connected to a timer because it should only be running when the pump is running. I had to redo a lot of the electrical and removed the old timers.
Can anyone tell me what options I have to connect the salt system to a timer without spending a lot of money?
Thanks
Re: Installing Pentair IntelliChlor (salt cell)
1. Wire the SWCG power center with a power cord (25' 14-3 outdoor extension cord, cut to length).
2. Get an outdoor timer, like this one: Intermatic P1121 Heavy Duty Outdoor Timer 15 Amp
3. Connect the timer to the power.
4. Plug the power center into the timer.
5. Program the timer.
FWIW, the Intellichlor SWCG cells have a flow switch that will shut them off when the pump is not running.
Also, Pentair has GUTTED the warranty on self-installed products. If you've got warranty issues settle them ASAP.

Thank You for your quick response. It was helpful. I will be swimming in saltwater tonight.
