1st Pool Just Set Up - Am I on the Right Track
Hi - we just bought an Intex 22' x 52" Ultra Frame Pool - we followed some of the directions I found on here and now, 1 week later, the pool looks pretty good and our readings are:
PH - 7.1
FC (ppm) - 4
CC (ppm) - 0.6
Should I do any more tests or any other thoughts on how to proceed?
Thanks!!

Are you using our Super Simple Start up Recipe? http://pool9.net/ssr/
Your pH is a little low, Use a little 20 Mule Team Borax (laundry aisle at Walmart) to bump it up to mid 7s. Maybe try a couple of cups and then after a couple hours, retest and add more if needed.
If your CC reading is correct, then you actually need to shock your pool. But, we need to know your CYA reading in order to suggest how high to shock since the two are related.
What kind of test kit are you using?
What all have you added to the water?
Welcome to the Pool Forum, by the way and congrats on the new pool!

If you are following the Super Simple recipe, keep in mind it's a 2 - 3 month plan. You'll need the K2006 kit to keep going, after that: http://pool9.net/tk/

Thanks very much!! So far, so good... One question on the filter - is there a reccomendation for running the filter at night (overnight) vs during the day? Any special times? Also, as for the chemicals, does it matter if I add them in in the morning or at night? Thanks again!

Ideally, run the filter after swim use.
Initially, you should add chlorine (a) whenever it's too low but otherwise (b) in the evening, so it can work all night without being lost to the sun.

OK - perfect. So, if I add it at night, do I need to run the filter all night or, assuming we don't swim that day, can I add chlorine at night but shut the filter off for the night as well. I guess the better question is - how long does the filter need to run after adding chlorine. Thanks again!

Run the pump for a couple hours after adding chemicals.
