Best product to resurface my pool with
I'm 1.5 years new to owning a pool. I have been reading and watching this forum for over a year. I have learned so much and appreciate all the contributors. I'm now starting to think about resurfacing my pool and looking for recommendations. I have a 35,000 gallon in ground oval pool. Currently have what look like colored plaster. The plaster has come off on one step and I have some pitting. My questions are: should I wait or get it resurfaced now? Second what type of resurfacing material should I use? From what I've read the installer is more important than the product, but I can't decide between plaster, pebbletec, diamond brite, Quartzscapes...
Other than the pitting and missing chunk on the step, I also have discoloring or staining. It would be wonderful to have a beautiful pool floor.

You really need to pursue local info on this. What have the contractors you've talked to installed successfully? It's no use finding the 'perfect' finish product, if no one local is experienced in applying it successfully, unless you are willing to pay mega-bucks to import a contractor from 400 miles away!
(Even that may not work -- no matter how much you're willing to may, most contractors aren't willing to step on their local customers for the sake of single job, no matter how lucrative.)
Also, it would be good to find out HOW the metals staining your pool arrived in your pool, and then develop a plan to prevent that. You don't want to start looking for staining solutions AFTER your new finish is already in place.
Good luck
