New house water to fill new pool

Just updated sig so not sure if my pool data will appear. 21' round 54" semi-inground, vinyl, steel pool. Sand filter.

I have been reading and reading this form and guides on poolsolutions.com and love it ! I can not wait to get my pool installed next week. I will def use BBB, no more tablets. Here are my ?s that I hope you can help me with.

I've had prev intex pools and know when I fill them with house water I immediately get the green tint water - copper. I use the metal control from HTH and it clears up.

I plan on putting the metal control as I am filling it, is this ok and best?
Do I adjust alk 1st (very low when I first add water from prior experience) or PH 1st?
I plan on raising alk with baking soda and PH with borax.

Last ?. I am scheduled for the install next week , should I re-schedule it and wait for temps to be above 55 for the liners sake?
