Greetings! 12' Intex pool owner
Hello! I am a new forum member looking for good ideas for things to do and not do.
I have a small 12'x30" Intex AG with just under 1500gals. I was having pump issues and trouble keeping the water clear (Florida is hot year round for the most part) so I just upgraded to an Intex 14" Sand Filter with a 1/2HP pump running about 1600GPH and modified the pool wall to accept the new higher flow fittings. Water is now crystal clear but I have floaters and sediment on the bottom of my pool. I have order (should be arriving tomorrow) the Intex Deluxe Skimmer that I plan on building a PVC frame to support (I have read that they don't sit well on the inflatable ring). The skimmer should (I think) come with a fitting that will also allow me to use the vacuum I recently bought . So all should be well by the weekend. If I can make it through the summer with this pool we have been considering buying a larger one over the winter/next spring and using all the same equipment.

. . . membership upgraded.
Welcome! You might want to check out the recipe for Intex pools, found in this section of the forum. Link at top: "Pool Chemistry for Intex-type Pools"

I had the skimmer on my Intex donut. It required regular (daily) fiddling to keep it working. As the sun heats the ring, it expands and the skimmer moves.
