Pentair IC40 Chlorinator Power Problem
I noticed that the Power LED is not lit (neither red nor green) on the IC40. I acid washed the IC40 as it was very dirty and completely plugged between the middle grids. I reinstalled the IC40, but the LED was still not lit. I then replaced the fuse in the power center, but still nothing even though the green light inside the power center was lit. I then removed the fuse holder and checked that I do have continuity between the two terminals. I reinstalled the fuse holder, but still nothing.
Is the problem with the IC40 itself or is the problem with the IC40 power center?
Re: Pentair IC40 Chlorinator Power Problem
Check the output voltage on the power center -- it should be between 24 and 39v DC.
If it's not, you have a power center problem. If it is, you probably have a cell problem.
Re: Pentair IC40 Chlorinator Power Problem
Thanks.
I measured 25 vdc. I'm going to replace the IC40 cell.
Re: Pentair IC40 Chlorinator Power Problem
Don't throw your old cell way -- you may need the flow switch or embedded sensor off it, at some point. You can remove the switch and set it aside.
Re: Pentair IC40 Chlorinator Power Problem
Thanks. I look into how to remove those items.
Re: Pentair IC40 Chlorinator Power Problem
My bad -- sensor is embedded in the flow switch -- there's only one unit.
