I have a 7 year old Pentair Spectrum Amerlite [SAm Halogen] that is not changing colors. Pentair and my local pool dealer both suggest I replace it with a SAm LED light for about $500. I'd like to first explore fixing it myself. Does anyone have any experience / suggestions? Thanks, Jim
You might get an answer here; I've never worked on those lights myself.
But you're more likely to encounter someone who knows how to work on those lights at poolspaforum.com -- a lot of pool biz types hang out there; I tend to run them off from here, when they start pushing pool industry chemistry.
Just be prepared to encounter a lack of enthusiasm for a pool owner wanting to do-it-himself.
