OK to bump Hayward Perflex with damaged flex tube?
I was changing my D.E. prior to going on vacation and noticed that plastic part on one of the tubes near the center appears to be broken (covering intact). Not having time to get part and replace it I just put it back together thinking that I could get by for a couple weeks. Now I am wondering if I should bump it before I leave or will this possible tear the covering? Any info is appreciated, TIA.

Dunno, since I've never worked on a Perflex. I'd recommend you call and ask Hayward:

Last time I tried to speak with Hayward about a problem they basically refused to talk to me unless I was a dealer.

That's useful info for me, but not so useful for you. I'm sorry.
You might try posting your question on poolspaforum.com -- there are many pool industry members registered there. I wouldn't mention anything from here; most people in the industry who know about PoolForum or PoolSolutions are rather hostile.
