We are planning to get our inground gunnite pool replastered. We like the look of the darker pools but have heard that anything other than white plaster tends to fade. Has anyone had experience with a pool color other than white plaster? How has it held up? Pros/Cons?

I have a bluish color that has only faded on the top two steps of my pool. Anything that uses a dye for color is likely to fade. If you can find a natural quartz material in a color you like that is less likely to fade.
We have medium gray plaster that is supposedly made with black marble sand added, not dye. No fading after 2 years and it gives the pool a nice blue color. There is some mottling of the color that we think adds to the natural look but check one out in person to see if you like it first. Much cheaper than the pebble finishes but may not last as long.
