Baquacil to bleach conversion
Hi, 2nd year Baquacil pool owner. I have an Intex 22' X 52" Ultra Frame Swimming Pool with an Intex 2650 GPH Easy Set Sand Pool Filter Pump. I use the Aquabot Pool Rover Junior Robotic Above-Ground Pool Cleaner to clean the floor. Last year I battled green algae several times. It has hit again this week. Pool was looking great, had small amount of green along the edges. Swept the pool and took water to my local pool business. Pool business said everything looked great, just add 1/3 bottle (bottle 1/2 gallon) of Baquacil Sanitizer and Algistat. Next day, I had full blown green algae all along the walls and bottom of the pool. I came to this forum looking for answers. The answer I found is that I need to switch to the bleach.
I have ordered a Taylor K-2006C test kit, should be here around Tuesday of next week.
Any helpful advise would be appreciated! Thanks!
Re: Baquacil to bleach conversion
There is a whole section of the forum where there are multiple threads documenting baquacrap conversions from members of the forum. There is also a stickied thread at the top giving details for how to convert. Until your registration is complete, you will have to log out to be able to see the rest of the forum, however. Log out and go to the subforum called PHMB: Baquacil, SoftSwim, Clear Comfort, etc and click on the first thread.
Good decision to switch! You won't be sorry. Just be prepared for your pool to turn all sorts of pretty shades of green during the conversion process but it will clear and you'll be glad you did it.
Come back if you have further questions and ....... welcome to the Pool Forum!
