How to fix hose from leaking at end
Turned on my filter for the first time yesterday. All leak free except for the return hose that is connected to the sand filter. I have the hose clamp tightened down quite a bit but it is still dripping where it is connected. Not sure how other people have fixed these problems in the past. We live in a cold climate and I need to dissassemble in the winter time so a type of glue wouldn't work for me. I inspected the end of the hose and there are no cracks, the hose is less than a year old...somehow the water is leaking past the hose clamp. Also not sure if the placement of the hose clamp makes a difference.
Re: How to fix hose from leaking at end
The placement of the hose clamp could make a difference. I usually put the hose clamp about 1/4 inch from the end of the hose. Also be certain that the hose is pushed ALL the way onto the adapter.
Are you certain the water is leaking from the flex hose and not the adapter that screws into the valve port on the top of the filter? I had a very small leak where the adapter screwed into the port but solved that by reinstalling the Teflon tape. Just and idea to look into.
Good luck.

Hi, there are a few tricks that can be used to seal a leaky hose. You could reposition the clamp and retighten. Most of the time this does the trick. You could add a second hose clamp. That almost always works.
If all else fails, remove the hose and wrap teflon tape very tightly around the fitting. It should seal at this point.
Best of luck, Dennis
