Acrylic Kool Decking and Salt Water..

The guy doing my remodel is trying to talk me out of a salt set up .. He said it causes problem with the acrylic finish they use around the pool .. Anyone have any experience with this ? HE stated that the decking will normaly last 10 years but with salt I would only get about 5-8 out of it ..

Also is there anything different about the finish/ materials when it's new construction compared to a refinish ?

News to me - all the PBs I met witn recommended the SWG and wanted me to get the acrylic decking. Maybe your builder isn't familiar with SWG?

I'd like to find out - I have a pool with a SWG with acrylic banding and pavers going in.

I have Acrylic and SWCG, but mine is only 2 years old. I don't expect 10 years out of my acrylic w/o some sort of touch-up / re-sealing.
