Is Multiport valve supposed to click as it turns - Hayward SP0710XR50

I just replaced mine and the first turn nice and smooth (always clockwise) now it clicks as I turn it around. Is this normal?

That sounds ominous. I'd guess it's the spring clicking against the handle.

stiff perhaps?
