Intex 14x48 Ultra Frame Pool

Hello! Our intex 14x 48 ultra frame pool is finally filled up. I am clueless as how to use the chemicals or basic maintenance for that matter and hoping someone here could help! We purchased the above ground pool stater kit, it only came with step2 3in1 chlorination skimmer tabs and step3 shock'n swim. The packaging has absolutely no direction on how to add these to your pool? Also I have young children how soon after adding these can they swim? My husband I have toyed with the salt water system, would it be worth it? I'm sure I will have to buy more chemicals but I am completely lost! Any advice will help! Thank you in advance, Brandy
