And here we go again! "Light Brown"
Last year we started out the same way, filled pool with stream water that runs by the house because we have well water, added bleach, got brown, blah, blah, the whole spill!!! So we drained, added in Algaecide 60 plus from in the swim, and Metal Free, waited 2 days to filter and backwashed a few times.....then we started adding in chlorine and it was clear as could be.... well this year, I just did the same thing, and now it's a little light brown, but still very clear. I know the water we have has iron and a little copper in it from all the tests last year. I did the bucket test this year though and after adding bleach it never did turn colors, it stayed clear. So my question is, since it is just light brown, can I add some Polyquat or more metal remover to it to help clear it up? we have a sand filter and can backwash several times to help clean it out. Just let me know if we can do this or empty and start again. Ph is 7.6, clorine is 1.2

How long has it been since you filled from the stream? Could it just be sediment from the stream that is causing the water to be brown? Maybe turn your pump off and see if a lot of it will settle on to the pool floor where you can vacuum it out?

I would definitely go with adding the polyquat, etc. and filtering a lot. Just be sure to maintain adequate chlorine too.
