Pool finishes? Gunite pool. Just replaster or some other coating?

I have had this house for a bout 6 years. It is time to either replaster the pool or do something else? I was wondering what are my options? Do the epoxy finishes last? I was told the pool was replastered just before we bought the home so it lasted about 7 years. It is very rough and shows staining now. I would like to do something but I was told by a neighbor his epoxy finish ? Forgot the brand name is warrantied for 20 years. Although I think he got ripped off on it something like 15k. Last year we had a plastering quote around $3000 and my pool is much larger then his.
