please help-- my jandy in floor pool cleaning filter keeps gettng clogged

Hello all--- we had a pool installed two months ago with a jandy in-floor pool cleaning system. in order to maintain adequate pressure in the system, i am having to clean the jandy filter every 12 hours as it gets clogged with organic debris. the pool contractor states this is typical "construction debris" that will diminish over time. we had a similar system in our old pool and i dont recall ever cleaning that small metal mesh filter more than every few months. could there be a leak in the piping that is allowing matter to accumulate? any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as this does not seem right!
