1st time pool owner. Pool was unused for 3 years.
Sorry if this is double posted. I don't think it went thru.
We are buying a Bank owned house, and the 15 x 30 pool hasn't been used for about 3 years. (SW Florida so no freeze)
The pool is covered by a 2 x 6 framework, with wire mesh, and before it deteriorated, I believe a plastic tarp.
The water as best we can see looks black. With better lighting it might look better.
The pump is missing.
Is it practical to clean the water and pool, without drianing it? I'm worried if I put a pump in and start filtering, all the small tarp pieces, or other crap, might clog things up bad.
I'm thinking draining, pressure washing, and then pressure testing the pipes is the way to go, but if there an alternative I'm all ears!
Thanks

You can probably clean the water and the pool without draining--you'll be surprised what some bleach will accomplish. What type of pool? IG? AG? Liner? Do you have a high water table where you are? You're going to need a pump either way--you can always start the pump up, scoop as much stuff from the bottom as you can with a leaf net or skim net, and just keep an eye on the skimmer to make sure that it doesn't clog up with small pieces of stuff.
