First Closing in NY

Though I HATE to start thinking about this, I want to plan ahead. I live on Long Island. We could get lots of snow and very cold weather. Years ago when I had an AG pool I had a solid cover, bubble and submersible pump and it was a PAIN. BUT I guess things haven't advanced much since then...
So do I get the same?
Also I just need polyquat 60% and my bleach as far as chemicals go?
A skimmer plate and a winter plug? OR do I get an aquador (if they make it for a Haywood sp1091 wm??)or a gizmo?????
I don't want to go to the pool store without being armed with knowledge!!!

Oh I've been reading all the posts regarding closing
