concrete decking question
We just recently had a 16 x 40.. 8 ft deep pool put in and had 7 ft. of concrete poured around it. The pool company installed the cantilever forms and was supposed to include 3 ft of the concrete in the cost of the pool which we paid for when the pool was installed. On the day the concrete was poured they informed us that we owed them 14,100.00 for the extra concrete. I thought it was a type o! They never discussed with us how much it was going to cost and we thought since in was only an extra 4 ft. it wouldnt be over 5, 000. so we didnt ask them for a price. The concrete wasnt stamped or tinted, just plain concrete which we found out cost 2,400. They havent even finished installing our diving board, slide or our automatic pool cover and havent been back to seal the concrete and they are asking for their money. We live in a very rural area of north central pa. so the cost seems extremely high! I'm not sure if anyone will be able to help but thought I would try. Does anybody have any experience with this and can offer some advice. Thanks, Shelly
Re: concrete decking question
I'm not sure anyone can help you with this, except an attorney. Without seeing your contract, I have no idea what you agreed to, and even if I saw the contract and total billing, I wouldn't know what's normal in your area.
I can tell you prices for concrete pools tend to me much higher in rural areas, compared to urban areas. Prices are very low in Florida, and tend to get higher as you move inland, northward, and westward.
