SWG Possible Problem

New pool been running great about about four months. I have the Aqualogic PS4 system with SWG. As the temperatures have been getting hotter here in Phoenix I have had to adjust the chlorinator percentages higher to keep all the numbers in line. The unit has shown between 2900 and 3200 PPM since a day or two after the SWG start up. All is fine until this morning. Last night I bumped the chrlorinator % from 50 to 60. This morning during the regular pump run the system is saying "chrolintor off - low salt, check salt". So how or why did I go from 3200 to "low salt" with just a small chlorinator adjustment? Your comments are appreciated.

It's normal to have to adjust the % as the temperature rises. That's one of the nice things about the autopilot, temperature compensation.

Have you tested your salt level?

If your SWG cell gets scale it will think it has low salt - most of these systems "measure" salt conc. by reading the cell current vs voltage (= resistance). How's your CH ? Does your system automatically reverse the cell polarity to clean the cell? You could need to manually cleanit

btw, I read in this forum just recently that the chemical reaction which produces the chlorine increases with temperature.

Chlorine output may rise, but I believe chlorine demand and consumption rises faster. It only takes 5-7% duty cycle to maintain FC in my pool in the winter, it takes about 40% to keeep up in the summer.
