WAIT?? for sand compaction after filling???
My installer is supposed to be back tomorrow to finish so we can get started filling by late afternoon. He told me that it is recommended to wait a week before walking in an AG pool to allow the sand to compact into the ground to reduce the likelihood of foot prints (although he has to get in during the install??) He said most people only wait 72 hours. Okay, it's Memorial Weekend and I've already been waiting an extra week due to a missing box of parts. Is this true?? It just seems that with the weight of water, over the course of filling, all the compaction would be done. I've already decided I can get on my float off the ladder and keep off the bottom if I have to!!
Re: WAIT?? for sand compaction after filling???
Hi, I tell my customers to wait until the pool is full before they get in. At this time the sand should be compacted firmly. That water is very heavy.
I do not get in the pool when installing a liner. I do everything from outside of the pool. If that is your installers plan you should end up with a very smooth bottom.
Wait for the pool to fill and enjoy your weekend, Dennis

thanks for such a quick response - I thought that would be the case but just wanted to be sure.
