I would try calling their customer support folks and asking that question..obviously they have something in mind, but I don't know what it could be.

The reason for leaving it in the water for 20 minutes after shut off is to allow the motor to cool. In the manual for my aquabot it says that the water cooled motors may overheat and may be damaged if they are removed from the pool immediately after shut off.
