Does anyone have an ideaa what may be causing this? It isn't the grainy sand but finer. When stepping on it, it dissapates into the pool water only to settle later when pool isn't being used. Thoughts?

When you replaced the sand, did you use pool filter sand or another type? While you had the sand out of the filter, did you inspect the laterals, and were you very careful when you refilled the filter not to damage or move them? When you started up the pump for the first time after the sand change, did you start it up in backwash, and then rinse modes before changing back to "filter"? Do you actually see it blowing into the pool--if so, is it constant, or just during the first few seconds afer the pump starts up? What size filter, and what HP pump do you have? Did this ever happen before the sand change? What was the reason for the sand change?
Just a few ideas....

It's possible that this is just "sand dust" or plain old airborne dirt that's too fine to be filtered. You could try a skimmer sock, available in packs of five at the pool store. Turn the pump on, set the filter to 'recirculate' if you have that option, brush the bottom to stir up the sand/silt/dust and let the system run for a while. Skimmer socks catch a lot of very fine debris which often go right through the filter and back into the pool. Check the sock after 3 or 4 hours. They can be rinsed clean and reused.
