Be Creative: Floating Pool Thermometer
Here's a creative one for all those with unique ideas:
I have a standard pencil-like pool thermometer tied to a string on the ladder.
Problem: It floats. What can I tape, tie, attach, melt, weld or glue to it to make the bottom sink?
Solution: ?
Ideas:
- Electrical Tape, 3 pennies
- Drill and put in a bolt
- Attach a car tire
- buy a new thermometer (but for the inventive sake - NO!)
Any good/cool/crazy ideas?
Cheers.

Ummm..I'd skip the pennies and the bolt. Mine sinks by itself :)

Re: Be Creative: Floating Pool Thermometer
Some pool thermometers have a cap on one end to make it float, but that cap can usually be pulled off so that it sinks.

Bit of monofiliment line, or a leader, and a bell sinker attached to the end. :p:cool:

A good idea except aren't those sinkers metal?
Re: Be Creative: Floating Pool Thermometer
The plastic el-cheapo one I had used to float unless you held it underwater until it filled with water; whatever genius that designed it only left a small hole at the TOP to let water in. I just drilled a hole in the bottom of the case and it fills and sinks quite nicely now.

Lead actually. Just being a bit tongue in cheek!
