small intex 2,000 gallon above ground
when we opened the pool this year (3rd yr) we have floating gobs of white mucous. we have vacuumed and skimmed every day, tested and balanced the chemicals.(yes with a guess strip but after reading your forum we're getting a better test kit tonight) it's a little better. i am hoping we won't have to drain it. please help??
Re: small intex 2,000 gallon above ground
Hi, and welcome to the forum!!
Is this a chlorine, or Bacquacil pool? If you'll post a set of tests taken with a drop-based kit (we really recommend the K-2006, or at the very least, the hth 6-way drop test from WalMart) we'll be glad to help. While you're at it, please take about 30 seconds to fill out this form with your pool's info so that we don't waste a lot of time asking questions to try to get the info we need...

Everything that I know of, that causes anything like

in a pool, is a pain to clean up. Unless you are on restricted water supply, or paying HUGE amounts for water, with a 2,000 gallon pool, it would be MUCH easier to drain and refill, than to try to clean it up.
Read the sticky in this Intex section on Intex start up, and do NOT refill, till you are ready to go!
