We had an aglae bloom last week, used algaecide followed up with a polymer solution from our local pool store to clump the algae. We've been brushing, vacuuming since then but still have light blue pool water that remains cloudy. We can't see the main drain and can't open. I read that cloudy water can result from adding calcium chloride and sodium bicarbonate at the same time (not sure if I did this). Any ideas? Thanks
Re: Cloudy water, chemistry balanced - Help!
I'm sorry, but I've had to stop trying to help commercial pools. I do that professionally. But, it's too complex to do here.
Staff / board members / managers are transient; multiple people have to sign off on decisions -- it's simply to complex to do over the internet.
You're welcome to read -- though you'll need to log out to do so -- and you are welcome to discuss with other commercial pool operators. (However, they only tend to log in when THEY have an urgent problem.)
Briefly, with respect to your current situation:
1. If you caused a calcium cloud via adding cal chloride + bicarb, it would have been immediately visible.
2. Algae cleanup takes days, with sand filters.
3. "Polymer solutions" have unpredictable effects and can make things worse.
Good luck with your Memorial Day weekend.
