Re: Faulty pool filter intex
I wouldn't think your pump got stronger over the winter. Are the filters getting clogged up fast? Are they the exact replacement filters or brand-x or maybe the wrong but similar size?
Re: Faulty pool filter intex
I've got some outside work to do this AM, but let me pass this on to the Unicel service manager; he's offered to help with questions like this, and they make good quality replacement cartridges for most filters.
However, it would help if you can give us the exact cartridge and pump model you have -- or the pool model. Or if you can send pictures to poolforum@gmail.com. Or you can try taking pictures with your phone, and texting them to (423) 300-6560, which is the PoolForum Google Voice number. (Hm-mh. I can't get that to work. I'll have to try later.)
Re: Faulty pool filter intex
I can not see how the cartridge collapse you have made reference to would be caused by a faulty pump. Filter cartridge collapse is typically a result of high differential pressure in the filter housing and a result of either the filter media blinding off too quickly, the filter cartridge not being removed and cleaned often enough or lastly an issue (manufacturing defect or poor quality material) with the cartridge core. A picture of the collapsed cartridge(s) in question would be very helpful with investigating the cause of the failure.
