looking for a replacement suction side vac.

I recently had our pool redone in pebble tec .we have an older hayward suction side cleaner, looks like the navigator. Well, its at least 5 yrs old, and the pebble tec is shredding it up. Not to mention the new drain covers are raised, and its constantly hung up on them. Im looking for a replacement suction side cleaner that can handle some leaves, not get caught up on the drain covers, and not get grated to dudt on the pebble tec. I wouldnt be willing to spend much more than 500$
