I have the good Taylor kit that was recommended to buy. The original DPD powder reagent that came with the kit has run out. I bought extra testing chemicals that were recommended when I bought the kit. My question is this: I have a liquid container of testing DPD Reagent #2, labeled R-0002. Is this the same as the powder? If so, how do I use it? I guess I should call the company and ask? Just wondering if anyone on here knows, I am not even sure where I got my kit, now?
The R-0002 is one of the two reagents used to test for FC in the Taylor K-2005. This kit is supplied with liquid reagents and uses a color comparator tube for the chlorine tests. The K-2006 is the one that comes with DPD powder R-0870 and the liquid reagents R-0871 and R-0003 for the FC and CC test. The testing method is a titration where you count drops until you get a color change.
The R-0002 is not the same as the powder. You use it in combination with the liquid R-0001 for chlorine testing with a K-2005 kit.

I buy mine at http://www.amatoind.com/taylor-testi...s-c-30_35.html . I normally keep on hand at least 1 pint of CYA reagent (order #309), 250 g (or so) of DPD powder (order #13768), and 2 oz of R-0871(order #12554). I store them in a spare fridge inside plastic bags and drop a desiccant pack in with the DPD powder. Amato does not carry the pH reagent R-0014 but you can buy that at Leslie's.
