Backwash Filter
I'm sorry, I'm sure this question has been answered on the forum but since it will not let me search, I will have to ask. Or, let me amend, it will let me search but when I try to click on the search results it will not let me see the posts. It says I don't have priveleges.
So, I just bought a Quick Set pool, the kind with the ring that inflates. It is 14'x 42''. I'm using the filter that came with it. I'm not sure what it would be called but it just uses size A filters.
What is backwashing and can I do that with this type of filter? Is this something I need to worry about?

Re: Backwash Filter
Hi Tntoygirl and welcome to the Pool Forum!
I am not familiar with that type of pool filter. Backwashing is cleaning the debris out that has collected in your filter. I don't know the process with those filters. Somebody will know, though.
But, you can search and see the search results if you log out before you search. Once your registration is complete, you will be able to see all of the forum without having to log out first.

Re: Backwash Filter
Those are cartridge filters; you take them out and wash them off with hose.
You should have a manual that explains how. I couldn't find an online manual on their site, however.

Re: Backwash Filter
pooldoc is correct and to be a little more clear, backwashing is something you do with sand filters and not with the type of filter you have, so don't worry about backwashing yours.
