Resin v Steel
Hi, we are brand new to this whole pool thing - except we know we want one. We are looking at buying an 18' above ground and are debating between resin or steel though leaning to resin. We're also wondering if we should go with a salt clorination system if we go with resin.
There are two brands of resin pools that we have narrowed it down to. One is a Yukon, and the other is an influence (here is the web site for that one linkremoved by modl) The Yukon is cheaper but only has a 30 year warrenty, whereas the other has a 60 year.
Is there anything we should know/consider before we purchase a pool???
Thank you

Hi bride13,
I removed your link so I could mod your post in faster. Hopefully someone will come along soon who can offer you some information that will help you choose a pool. By the way, welcome to the Pool Forum!

Re: Resin v Steel
We bought a Yukon and really love it so far ... I think the warranties are fairly misleading, most people that I know that have replaced AGP after 10+ years just buy a new one. So if they had a 15/20/30/? warranty then why did they not file a claim and go from there (unless they were going with a different size pool). I figure that in 30 years I am likely to be in a different house and possibly I'll want another IGP by then, as long as I get at least 10 years from this one then I'm happy. All told my pool + pump/filter/ladder/SWG cost $2200; install was another 850 and landscaping and deck another $600. So at just over $3500 I have something that my family can enjoy for a reasonably long time. Good luck in your search.
