Advice on repairing pool needed..!

I own an above ground pool and wanted to use it a bit one last season before I sell or rent my house..

Here's a couple of pictures of the situation..

I was told I need to replace the section of pool wall (obviously) and that I would need a new liner as well.

The price for all this was about $2000...I am going to submit it for warranty repair but dont have great expectations they will cover this.

The liner is in great shape except for a small tear near the skimmer.. I am pretty handy and was wondering if this is something I tackle myself...

I guess the first question is does the entire liner need to be replaced?

I would contact your local pool supply store and see if there is a patch available. However, if you are going to rent this house, I would replace the entire liner. An above ground pool is a great selling/renting point, but you don't want to have to keep patching the tear when you have tenants. If you were staying, it might be worth it to patch, but in your situation replacement sounds like the only option.

Thanks for the response...For whatever reason while I would love renting or buying a house with a pool in my town it seems to be a non selling point and often a liability..

Can't figure out how to post pics...I would like to show you guys what the damage looks like for a better idea of the situation..

I emailed Naimco for a warranty repair but from what I've heard my expectations are low.

You are in my 'zero experience' zone -- moving this into the AG section. I also moved your pictures to Google -- these threads live for years, but the pictures all seem to die after a year or so . . . or whenever I do a major forum software upgrade.

Just out of curiosity -- how did that happen? From underneath, it looks like something crunched it, but the deck looks OK.

Thank you for posting the pics...It must have been caused by ice or snow or a combination...(I guess?)..I closed the pool as I always did...but it was an extreme winter as I am sure you know.

I got an estimate but it included replacing the liner..which only has a small tear near the skimmer...I'm calling them tomorrow to see if they will just replace the one panel..

I would try to purchase a replacement stainless panel from the manufacturer and go that route. If you do decide to remove the dents you may want to get a piece of galvanized sheet metal from HD and rivit it to your repair for added strength.

I have a claim in with the warranty service and let's see waht they say...I was joking about removing the dents though...thanks for the response and I will update how it goes.
