Leaks on threaded line leading into Pump

I have a Wisperflow pump and it started not priming, running dry. I checked for leaks and found that both the threaded lines leading in and out of the pump are leaking. The inlet pipe is sucking air and the exit is leaking water. The pool is 2 years old and it looks like the installer put something on the threads that finally fell off. To verify the problem I put plumbers putty on the area and it sealed the leaks and the pump runs fine. Obviously this is temporary patch.

It there something I can put on the threads to permanently seal them?

I found A+B Epoxy Putty. I would assume once this is used there is no turning back. Anyone tried this before?

Clear rubber silicone works wonders on wet ends. Lasts a lifetime too.

teflon tape is what most people use on threaded connections. Make a few wraps around the male end coverring all of the threaded area and reassemble and it should not leak.

I am attempting to fix the issue without removing the pump to get to the threads to apply the tape. To do that I would need to cut and replace pipes, basically like replacing the motor. It seems as if the installer used pipe dope rather then tape but I am not sure.

Silicone seal should work on the suction side because the vacuum will tend to pull it into the leak. In fact, I'd get the pump running and then wipe dry the area and apply the seal while it's running to suck the goo into the leak before it cures. But it won't hold on the pressure side.

Your better off fixing the problem than adding to it. Cut the male fittings off then install new schedule 80 male fittings with teflon tape and Permatex #2 (dry fit the fittings first to judge the amount of teflon tape). If you can not easly glue back with out doing a lot of cutting just add two unions (one on the intake side and one on the discharge side).
