How To Backwash with Jandy Never Lube 3 Port Valve
May seem like a dumb question, but I need to backwash a pool and have no idea exactly how to do it. It's a DE filtration system. The DE was recently changed, but the PSI is now over 10 above what it should be and was told I need to simply backwash it.
Jandy Never Lube 3 port valve part # 4717. Motor is a Hayward Max Flo II. The engine was changed about 6 weeks ago and Filters changed as well (with DE added). Normally it runs fine for about 6 months before the DE has to be changed. But the PSI went up recently too much.
The valve itself doesn't have any written setting. It's all the way to the right with OFF all the way to the left. I don't know how to backwash with it.
Help appreciated!

Not all DE filters are set up to backwash. All can be manually cleaned, some can ONLY be cleaned that way.
If you'll send some photos of your pump, filter, & piping to poolforum AT gmail DOT com, I'll post them, and see if someone can help you.

Thanks for the reply. I will try to get pictures maybe tomorrow.
If it helps any, the pool is a pool with jacuzzi combo. When I turn the valve all the way to the other side, the water in the jacuzzi goes down. Should I post the pics here or e-mail to the e-mail you stated?

Welcome to the Forum!
Send the pics to the e-mail Ben gave you and he'll see that they show up here. Please try to show the entire system, even if it takes 2, or more, pics.
