Removing sand from pool (from filter)
it looks lilke the sand is coming from the filter
i pass the vacuum, i backwash and rinse
when the pump is off, the sand doesn't come on (at night)
when i start the pump (in the morning), the sand comes back to the same places before I passed the vacuum.
What can I do?
Do some chemicals remove sand?
Re: Removing sand from pool (from filter)
No chemicals -- just vacuum it up.
Sand in pool can indicate that your filter needs repairs.

Re: Removing sand from pool (from filter)
Thanks.
In order to save on repairs. (might be my last year for the pool)
Any impact to leave the sand in the pool (except for the looks)
1-What about if I vacuum it to waste?
2-Or I use a regular house vacuum to take it out?
Re: Removing sand from pool (from filter)
Sand in a pool won't hurt anything, it just won't look pretty. If your filter isn't working properly, vacuuming to waste isn't going to solve the problem. It will throw out the sand you vac from the pool, but when you turn the pump on again, more sand is going to blow into the pool.
I'm not sure what you mean by using a regular house vac. You don't mean the vac you use on your carpets, do you?? If so, not a good plan!
Re: Removing sand from pool (from filter)
For the regular house vacuum, I meant vacuums that could pick up dust or water. (but it wont do anything, more sand can come in if something is broken)
The only thing I find strange is that I always have the same amount of sand in the pool. If I have something broken, more sand should come in my pool.
Re: Removing sand from pool (from filter)
I have an issue with sand blowing in my pool from the yard- every 2-3 days, always about same amount depending on winds...
are you sure it is from filter?
adding a little DE to filter may help catch some additional fine sand; it helps mine! (2-3 days instead of every day!)
