DE powder in my pool
I have a DE filter and one of the elements was bad. As soon as I added powder this morning, I saw it flowing right back in my pool through the returns, I had already added about 5 scoops of the powder, so it all went back in and clouded the heck out of my pool. I have already ordered new grids (8 total) but how do I start getting the DE back out of the water. Once I get my new grids will it start collecting back in the grids ? For right now, I plugged the hole of the small grid that was bad, took that grid out and left the other 7 larger grids in. Anyway, any advice would be oh so nice, thanks. I have an inground pool with the triton 48 sq foot filter, about 35000 gallon pool.

I would just leave the pump off overnight and see if it will settle to the bottom to be vacuumed.

Re: DE powder in my pool
I had the same problem at one time and thought I had fixed it. The last two years I kept getting DE in the pool(only have had the pool for 5). The last time my air breather was bad and I replaced it to no avail. I inspected everything and still DE in the pool. I narrowed it down to the spider gasket.
I found DE in the pool to be very discomforting becuase it was nickle and diming me to death. I was so fed up with getting DE in the pool I decided to make the plunge and replace it with a new 30" sand filter with zeo-sand (it filter to 3 mirons the same as DE) and it works great!! It has less maintenance and will last a long time without the annual mess of tearing appart and cleaning.
