cya?
I am adding 3 lbs of cya in my pool. I had read on here to put in a sock or knee high and hang in front on a return. So I put 3 lbs in a knee high and hung in front of a return. My question is it has been there for the better part of a day with little to no change. So I moved it in front a a jet. when I did it seem to blow out alot of the cya in a white cloud. I could move it up and down in front of the jet and more came out. By doing this it seems to move out over half of the cya. Is this a ok way to get the stablizer mixed in the water?

Re: cya?
Yes, this is an okay way to get stabilizer in the water, especially if you're going to need to backwash your filter before it all dissolves. CYA does take a few days to dissolve, so if you can encourage it by giving the knee high a squeeze occasionally, it may help speed it up.

Re: cya?
Don't know where my post went that I added a half hour or so ago???? hmmm
At any rate, as long as you don't have CYA granules sitting on your liner, you are ok. If you do, vaccuum them up and let them dissolve in the filter. You do not want CYA sitting on the liner since it is an acid.
