Re: PVC fitting on filter
Probably have a problem with the multi-port valve on the filter. Quite common. There is a gasket in it that looks somewhat like a spoked wagon wheel and some call it a spider gasket. It is prone to popping out of the channels molded in the valve body and when this happens you get leaks between the ports. I am assuming that is the kind of valve you have. If so, put the handle in between positions to release spring tension and remove the 6 screws. Comes apart easily and the problem should be obvious by visual inspection. Before you pull the two halves apart just mark them so you orient them correctly during assembly. Nothing will fly apart. If we're on the right track post back and we'll walk you through replacing the gasket.

Re: PVC fitting on filter
Al,
Thanks for the reply. Yes it was the spider gasket, unfortunately I had to buy the whole diverter valve assembly. It was $40, so not too bad. Everything put back together and working fine! Added 2 gal of bleach, ran pump all day, pool is ready to open...well as soon as we have a few more 80 degree days!
Thanks again, Robert
Re: PVC fitting on filter
Glad it was a simple fix, and relatively cheap also.
