Question about pump for safety cover

i bought a solid safety cover a few years ago and foolishly got the one with the mesh panel in the middle - all the weight of the solid cover, plus i get to open to a green pool every year! brilliant!

in any case, i have covered up the mesh panel and now have an actual solid cover. so now, of course, i'll need to pump water off the cover. is there a particular type of pump needed for inground pools? there's an awful wide variety of prices out there and i want to make a smart choice.
