Customer made a bad mistake.....

A customer of mine made a terrible mistake by using some steel Brillo pads to clean their tile and after they were done. They woke up the next morning to find that brillo pads left little rust stains all over their pool.

I do have a device that shoots Muriatic acid to the bottom directly on the rust stains. Will that remove them? I was thinking about using a pumice stone/sand paper to try and brush the stains off. Those are the only 2 things I can think of.

It's a salt water pool with white plaster, also with a heater.

Neither is a good idea--it will probably damage the plaster.

That method looks like a product I use called Super Pool Stain Treat. I know it gets rid of metal stains easily but I don't think I have ever tried it on heavy rust stains. I will try the ascorbic acid.

That super stain stuff is no good. Trust me, I have tried it. Your best best bet is pure ascorbic or oxalic acid.

I would try a magic eraser (Mr. Clean), or use some low grade sandpaper. Ascorbic acid does not do a good job on rust stains.

Blah, that's what I kind of figured mbar. Super pool stain treat doesn't get rust stains out, so I didn't think this would either.

I will try those things.
