I have green algae. I''m not sure if it's dead or alive. How can I tell? I have normal cl and free cl levels. Should I add more bleach just to be sure? What it the proper time to super chlorinate? I assume super chlorinate is just adding extra bleach? Sorry for so many questions.

If it's green, it's alive. If it's dead, it's brown or tan.
BTW, green and clear usually means something besides algae. Algae is green and cloudy, or at least, green and hazy.

PS. If it is algae, and you have normal chlorine levels, you'll need to raise levels till it dies. I've seen algae persist up to around 50ppm -- not thrive, but not die, either. Of course, you probably don't want to exceed 25 ppm with a liner pool, if that's what you have.

Joe,
As I said in the other thread where you tell us about the algae problem, we need numbers to be able to make any recommendations to help you.
