View Full Version : Can I upgrade from the Hayward EC-65 to the EC-75 using the same pump?

I am considering upgrading from the EC-65 to the EC-75 because my pool is 20'x40', 10 feet deep and roughly 40,000 gallons and I see the EC-75 can filter almost this entire amount in 8 hours.

I have been using an EC-65 for many years but it broke last season. Can I do this while still using the pump and base from my old EC-65 system? I do not know what the horsepower of my pump is - the identifying labels have been worn off by the elements. I am using the "System III" base.

Thanks for any quick help since I need to buy this pump (either the EC-75 or a new EC-65) asap!

Welcome to the forum!

You sure can, the tanks are the same, the only difference is the length of the 'fingers'

You may have to disassemble and rotate the top to match up with the return plumbing, but otherwise, it's gonna run and match up the same as your EC 65 :)

Good luck with the upgrade.
