I was cleaning the pool a few days ago and noticed I needed to adjust the chlorine feeder to a higher level. I turned it up and noticed a drip drip drip out of where the control knob goes into the feeder. I turned it back and forth a few times and the drip got worse, now a steady stream. I headed for the pool store and they do not stock a new control knob but suggested I unscrew the control knob and put some teflon tape on the threads... Well, it did not unscrew (it just turns from off to 1/8 1/4 1/2 3/4 full), smoothly but then hits a stop. I came home got on the computer and discovered that all I needed was two o-rings and I could put them on the control knob shaft or I could purchase a new control knob for somewhere between $11 and $30 plus shipping. But nowhere online could I find how to remove and replace the control knob. Unfortunately it is near the ground and faces away from me.
The feeder is a Hayward CL100/CL110,(no check mark on the feeder to say which one) it is a inline feeder and takes the CLX100FA Control Knob. The knob is plastic and in a poor location and pulling and prying not knowing how it comes off could only break it off or break the Chlorinator. The Chlorinator has been working fine for the last 5 years and it was here when we bought the house. I've spent quite a bit of time online and have downloaded several (5) PDF's nice drawings but no info on removing the knob and I have google searched 4 hours unable to find out how to remove the knob. The Hayward FAQ's did not list my problem.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,'
Have a great day.
