Ideas for pool with low water level at opening

Hi All,

I took the cover off our pool yesterday, probably a bit impatient on my part but whats done is done. The pool is 16x32 ig, and probably needs about a foot of water. Since we are on a well, I have to have pool water trucked in. In the meantime, any ideas on how I can get some meaningful circulation in the pool? It very green, and I'd like to clean it up as much as possible before the new water is delivered, but I am afraid to put any chemicals in without proper circulation.

You can go ahead and pour in some bleach around the perimeter of the pool and then stir it around with a broom or oar or something to mix it around. (Don't want to leave bleach just sitting there in high concentration near your liner.)

Another option is a small sump pump with a garden hose adapter. Suck from one end like the steps and discharge at the deep end.

I can tell you for a fact that getting chlorine in there ASAP will help! Even if you have low or no circulation, add the bleach and do as Watermom or Poconos said - if you do it tonight, you'll see a major difference tomorrow ;)

Do you have a bad well? Im on well water and always top off with that.
You could drop the vacuum hose in the pool, hook up to the skimmer and run the pump, Just make sure you fill the hose with water first.

cant you turn off the skimmer and just have the floor drain take water in to the pump? That way it does not matter how low the water is.

If you don't have a floor drain (I don't), use your vacuum hose for an intake. Leave the intake end at the bottom of the pool. Just make sure you don't have sticks and branches at the bottom of the pool that might get sucked in and clog up your piping.
