Hello, we currently have a Jenair pump for our SW pool that is about 3 years old. I believe that in the summer when we run the pump about 6-7 hours (in So. California), our energy bill is about $150 extra.

I'm considering installing a pool pump to lower our energy bill. I see some Pentair models can bring the cost down to around per month.

Any advice, return on investment time, costs, vendors? I'm not sure where to start researching.

This (http://www.energy.ca.gov/appliances/database/excel_based_files/Pool_Products/Pool_Pumps.zip) spreadsheet compares the energy consumption of many different pumps. You will find that the VS pumps are the lowest energy users with two speeds not too far behind. Column M is the metric to look at. It gives you a direct relationship between gallons pumped per watt-hour used.
