The guy that installed my 24' AGP setup a block/pole next to the pump that has a switch and 110v outlet with plastic hinge covers that's designed to run power to.

I'm going to run a line from the breakbox to this pole (there's also a pool light running off this as well).

What is the best way to have a timer on this as well?

Would I install an outlet by the breakbox (and still have the pump on it's own breaker), and then plug in the timer there?

Or what other alternative do any of you suggest?

You can have an indoor timer wired into the box, or you can buy an outdoor timer that plugs into the outdoor outlet and the pump plugs into it. It mounts on the wall and is covered.
