I want to get a pool heater this year. I have a few questions. My pool is an AG 24' pool. I am looking for a natural gas heater. Here are a few questions.
What size for my pool?
Where is a good place to get it?
Any other info I should know about a heater? Thanks,
Frank

Your pool has about 1800 cubic feet of water assuming a 4' depth and that's about 113,000 pounds of water. 1 BTU (British Thermal Unit) raises 1 pound of water 1 degree F. Heaters are specified with a BTU per hour rating and I think that's the output to the water....not sure of that. If not then the efficiency has to be considered. So, if you want to raise the temperature of your pool 1 degree in an hour you'll need a 113000 BTU/Hr heater. That also assumes the pool isn't being cooled in any way. Armed with this info and your thoughts of how fast you want to change temperature you can figure the approximate rating of the heater you'll need. I forget the BTU / cubic foot of gas number but it can be found and knowing the cost of gas in you're area you can figure the rough cost of the pool temperature change.
As for where to buy, I have no idea.
Hope this helps.
