Filter drain Plug

I have a Jacuzzi CFR 75 cartridge filter. Its set up now with the drain plug in the rear and the out to the pool barb is on the side, both are 1 1/2" holes. Is there any reason why I could not change these around? Would it affect the flow rate back to the pool or hamper filtration somehow?
